One year after Marc Hirschi, another Swiss rider has won the Giro dell'Appennino, an Italian one-day race. The 20-year-old Jan Christen came out on top ahead of Simone Velasco and Diego Ulissi.
The two locals each lost 56 seconds to the Swiss rider from Team UAE Emirates. Italy is a good place for Christen. On April 10, he celebrated his first victory in the professional peloton in the second stage of the Giro d'Abruzzo.
