One of the greats of cross-country skiing announces her retirement. The American Jessie Diggins is ending her career after this winter.

"It will be hard for me to say goodbye to this sport and this team that I love so much," the 34-year-old American wrote on Instagram. "But it feels right in my heart and I'm really looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life."

Jessie Diggins has a complete palmarès as a cross-country skier. She won gold in the team sprint at the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, silver over 30 km and bronze in the sprint four years later in Beijing. She also won the world championship title in the team sprint in 2013 and ten years later in the 10 km. She has also won five other world championship medals.

Jessie Diggins is a three-time overall winner in the World Cup. She secured the big crystal globe in 2021, 2024 and 2025. She currently has 29 race wins on her record.
