"Jonas Vingegaard will not ride today's stage (stage 6, ed.). Our doctors have decided that it is best for him to recover at home from his crash and concentrate on his next goals," said the Visma-Lease a Bike team officials.
Vingegaard suffered the injury to his left hand in a crash on Thursday during stage 5. According to more detailed examinations, it is a contusion. The two-time Tour de France winner had to cede the lead in the overall standings to his American team-mate Matteo Jorgensen as a result of the mishap.
