The Dane Jonas Vingegaard secures overall victory in the Tour of Catalonia on Sunday after the 7th and final stage, which is won in a sprint in Barcelona by the Australian Brady Gilmore.
In the overall standings, the 29-year-old is 1:22 minutes ahead of the Frenchman Lenny Martinez and 1:30 ahead of the German Florian Lipowitz. The Dane, who won Paris-Nice two weeks ago, celebrated his first success in the Catalan tour and thus succeeds the Slovenian Primoz Roglic.
Vingegaard secured the overall victory after winning the 5th and 6th stages on Friday and Saturday, proving his dominance in the mountains.
At the age of 24, Gilmore celebrated his first victory in a World Tour race. The tour came to an end without Swiss participation.
