Josi's Predators move closer to playoff spot again

After two defeats, the Predators returned to success - against an opponent who also still has hopes of participating in the knockout phase of the championship and who had won the first two duels of this regular season.

In the Western Conference standings, the Predators are now two points behind a playoff spot, while the Jets are four points behind. Both teams still have 15 games to play.

Little was missing and the Predators could have spared themselves overtime or a penalty shootout. They were 3:2 ahead with 61 seconds remaining before Canadian Jonathan Toews equalized for the Jets, who were still playing without the injured Nino Niederreiter. Captain Josi was one of the assistants in the first period when Finland's Erik Haula made it 1-0 in the power play. In the penalty shootout, Toews' compatriot Ryan O'Reilly was the only one to score.

The Tampa Bay Lightning with Janis Moser are well on their way to the playoffs. The team from Florida remains in third place in the Eastern Conference standings after their 6-2 win over the Seattle Kraken. The Lightning's outstanding players were Russia's Nikita Kucherov with three goals and two crucial assists and Canada's Brendon Hagel with one goal and three assists.
