Julie Derron from Zurich finished in 3rd place at the end of the T100 World Tour in Qatar, which is endowed with almost three million dollars.
After 2 km swimming, 80 km cycling and 18 km running, the Olympic silver medallist from Paris was beaten by the two Britons Kate Waugh and Georgia Taylor-Brown. Derron lost 1:02 minutes to the winner Waugh.
At the end of the nine-race series, the Swiss athlete finished in 2nd place overall behind Waugh, earning her an additional 170,000 dollars in prize money.
