The Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist crashed her bike in August, but had hoped to take part until the end. However, the after-effects were too serious and a serious competition could have had negative consequences for her future, as the athlete announced on Instagram.
Julie Derron will have to make do with cheering on her sister Nina, the only Swiss starter in the elite class. The men's World Championships already took place in Nice in September.
