Julie Zogg announces her retirement at the end of the season

"Today marks the start of my last World Cup season as an active snowboarder," wrote the eastern Swiss athlete, who turns 33 in October, on Instagram.

With the Olympic Games next February, the success-spoiled St. Gallen native has one more major highlight to look forward to at the end of her career.

Zogg can boast an impressive palmarès: Two World Championship titles, two overall victories in the World Cup and six small crystal globes for winning the Parallel Slalom World Cup adorn her career. Only one Olympic medal is still missing for Switzerland's most successful female alpine snowboarder.
