Kadetten Schaffhausen win the Supercup for the third time in a row and for the 16th time overall.

Last season's double winners beat play-off finalists Kriens-Luzern 35:34 after extra time in a thrilling game in Ambri.

The Kadetten took a 27:24 lead in the 50th minute, after which they only scored two goals until the end of regulation time. Kriens-Luzern made it 29:28 with 90 seconds remaining, but Luka Maros saved the favorites in overtime. Schaffhausen never trailed in this period.

The Kadetten recorded five more goalkeeper saves than the Central Swiss side - Kristian Pilipovic fended off 17 shots. Schaffhausen's winger Odinn Rikhardsson was the game's top scorer with ten goals. Gino Steenaerts scored nine times for Kriens-Lucerne.

The women's Supercup was much less spectacular. Brühl St. Gallen, like the Kadetten double winners, defeated GC Amicitia Zurich 35:22. The Supercup was held in the Ambri-Piotta ice rink to promote handball in Ticino.
