After ten successes at the start of the season in the championship, Schaffhausen also lived up to expectations internationally. After a strong start against the renowned Spanish club, they got a little out of step and trailed for the only time midway through the first half. By the break, they had built up a decisive four-goal cushion (15:11). The top scorer was the Icelander Odinn Rikhardsson with nine goals.

The Kadetten will continue next Tuesday away against Serbian champions Partizan Belgrade. Their third opponent in the group stage is Nexe Nasice from Croatia.

Kriens-Luzern also started the group phase of the European League with a win. The team from Central Switzerland beat Elverum 34:31 in Norway. Marin Sipic and On Langenick were the Swiss team's top scorers with eight goals each. Kriens-Lucerne's other opponents in the coming weeks are Fram Reykjavik and FC Porto.

BSV Bern suffered a defeat, losing 28:32 at the Polish team Ostrovia Ostrow. The tasks will not get any easier for the Bernese. Montpellier will visit Bern next Tuesday and THW Kiel, both multiple Champions League winners, in mid-November.
