Kadetten Schaffhausen are in the playoff final again this year. Kriens-Luzern cut the deficit to 1:2 against BSV Bern.
The defending champions Schaffhausen also won the third game of the best-of-five series against Suhr Aarau 32:22 and advanced to the final without defeat. It is the 19th time in the last 20 years that the Kadetten have reached the final. They have also reached the final 14 times, including the last three years.
Kadetten's best scorer in their sixth win in the sixth play-off game of the season was Odinn Rikhardsson with nine goals and a shooting percentage of 90 percent.
In contrast to Suhr Aarau, Kriens-Luzern can continue to hope. The finalists of the last two seasons picked up their first point against BSV Bern with a 29:23 win, thus fending off their opponents' first match point. Kriens' eight-time scorer Luca Sigrist converted six out of six penalties, goalie Kevin Bonnefoi shone like Bern's Mathieu Seravalli with 16 saves.
Game 4 of the second semi-final will take place next Thursday (18:15) in Gümligen. It would be Bern's first qualification for the final in 35 years.
