One day after Kadetten decided the series against Berne in its favor, HC Kriens-Lucerne also made it to the final in the shortest possible time. Thomas Zimmermann's team beat Pfadi Winterthur 35:29 in front of over 3,000 spectators in the Pilatus Arena at home and celebrated its third victory in the third game of the best-of-five series. The home team took control from the outset and never trailed throughout the game. Goalie Kevin Bonnefoi (13 saves) and Luca Sigrist (16 goals) were the outstanding players for the Central Swiss side.
This is Kriens-Lucerne's third playoff final appearance in the last four years. Kadetten, who have won the title in the last four years, have always been on the other side.
Schaffhausen and Kriens-Luzern, the two best teams in the qualifiers, will meet in the final. The Kadetten start the series with home advantage, which does not begin until May 24 due to Switzerland's World Cup qualifier against Italy.
