Both teams had already secured their progression in Europe's second-highest competition before the final matchday.
Kadetten Schaffhausen's exit was also already sealed. The Swiss champions and sovereign leaders of the domestic league ensured a conciliatory end to the European Cup season with a superior 39:26 win over Tatran Presov from Slovakia in front of their own fans.
The main round with four groups of four teams will be played in February and March.
