HC La Chaux-de-Fonds wins the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup Final against Sierre in its own stadium 5:4 in overtime.
In front of 5225 spectators (sold out), Anthony Huguenin was the match-winner. The 34-year-old scored in the 7th minute of overtime after he had already sent his team into extra time by equalizing the score at 4:4 two minutes before the end of regulation time.
The team from the Neuchâtel Jura successfully defended their title in the Swiss Cup. The second Cup trophy is likely to be the last of its kind, as the Cup in Swiss ice hockey will be discontinued. Since the 2021/22 season, only the B teams and lower-level teams have been playing in this event. The overloaded schedule due to the championship and international commitments had led to the A teams withdrawing.
