HC La Chaux-de-Fonds wins the ice hockey cup final with a 4:2 win at home against the GCK Lions. The team from the Neuchâtel Jura wins the Swiss Cup for the first time.

La Chaux-de-Fonds, second in the Swiss League qualifiers, celebrated their Cup victory at home in the Les-Mélèzes-Halle. Against the GCK Lions, who had only secured their play-off place in the Swiss League on Friday in the last round, the team from Neuchâtel quickly made things clear.

In front of 5225 spectators (sold out), Julien Privet and Janik Loosli put the home team 2:0 ahead in the first five minutes. Stefan Rüegsegger increased the lead to 4:0 with two goals in the second period. The GCK Lions only managed to close the gap to 2:4 in the final period through Noah Böhler and Victor Backman.

The National League clubs no longer take part in the Swiss Cup. The clubs from the Swiss League were back for the second time. EHC Basel won the Cup a year ago. La Chaux-de-Fonds secured the trophy for the first time.
