The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers win the chasing duel against HC Fribourg-Gottéron 4-2, with the visitors scoring the decisive two goals in the final period.
And with the away win in the Fribourg arena, the Lakers make it clear that they have recovered from their interim slump (7 defeats). For the first time since mid-October, the St. Gallen team has won two games in a row.
Although Rapperswil-Jona only decided the game at the end, the Lakers' victory was not undeserved. Roger Rönnberg, Gottéron's coach, was forced to call a timeout after just four minutes. The Lakers led 2:0 going into the final period.
The final period was turbulent: American Kyle Rau and Swede Marcus Sörensen equalized for the home team. The Swedes Malte Strömwall made it 3-2 in the 57th minute and Jacob Larsson scored the final goal with a shot into the empty net.
