Fribourg's champion goalie Reto Berra has been back with the Swiss national team since the beginning of the week. The 39-year-old from Zurich is slowly feeling his way back after recovering from illness.
On Tuesday, Berra completed his second training session on the ice in Zurich-Altstetten. As he revealed to SRF afterwards, the Fribourg-Gottéron champion goalie had been suffering from pneumonia over the past few days. "When the team arrived at the World Championship camp last Wednesday, I was still very ill, lying in bed and drinking a lot of tea," Berra said.
On Monday, Berra was announced as the third goalkeeper. That leaves two open spots in the squad. Defenseman Lukas Frick and forward Nicolas Baechler will have to wait.
