Lausanne HC beat the SCL Tigers 4-1 in the only game of the National League on Sunday. The home team owes its victory to a strong middle third.

In the 24th minute, the first stuffed animals flew onto the ice after Lausanne forward Ken Jäger missed the lead for the hosts from close range. Seven minutes later, Damien Riat put the fans in the Lausanne Arena, which was sold out for the first time in the current championship with a crowd of 9600, in the right place.

The spell was broken. Defenceman Gavin Bayreuther (36') and Antti Suomela nine seconds before the second break increased the lead to 3:0 in the middle period. Although the Langnau team, which was playing with three foreigners, had not been three goals worse up to that point, the Vaud team improved markedly in the second period.

The Tigers' hopes of a turnaround after Flavio Schmutz made it 1:3 (52') were short-lived. Eight seconds later, Jordann Bougro put Lausanne back in front by three goals with his first goal of the season. It was LHC's fourth win in a row against the Emmental side, who lost for the sixth time in their last seven games.

Thanks to their tenth win in their twelfth home game of the season, Lausanne moved up to second place in the table at the expense of the ZSC Lions. The gap to leaders Davos is one point. The SCL Tigers remain in 12th place.
