Lausanne loses its opening game in the Champions Hockey League at home against Ocelari Trinec from the Czech Republic 1:2 after overtime.
An annoying penalty against Tim Bozon for delaying the game cost Lausanne the extra point in overtime. After just 44 seconds, Daniel Kurovsky took advantage of a 4-on-3 overtime situation to score the winning goal for the Czech champions.
The two goals in regulation time were scored shortly before and after the second intermission respectively. Théo Rochette scored on the power play to make it 1-0, while former Lausanne player Libor Hudacek equalized in the second minute of the third period.
For the second game, Lausanne will travel to northern Germany on Sunday, where they will face the Pinguins Bremerhaven.
