Lausanne Hockey Club is not in action in the National League on Saturday. Nevertheless, the Vaud team can feel like winners.

Lausanne came even closer to winning the qualification for the first time because the ZSC Lions went down 2:5 at the Schlittschuhclub Bern. Lausanne is also the first team to have mathematically secured qualification for the play-offs.

SC Bern took a 2-0 lead against the ZSC Lions after just 334 seconds and two goals from Thierry Schild and were already 3-0 up after 15 minutes.

HC Fribourg-Gottéron took the next step towards direct playoff qualification. The Fribourg team won their home game against the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 3:2. The Fribourg team, who were still in 12th place on December 21, 13 points behind 6th place, consolidated their 6th position with the win over the Lakers. Their lead over EHC Kloten is now four points.

Kloten suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in Ambri-Piotta with a 3-1 loss.

In the fourth game, HC Ajoie came from 1-0 down to beat EV Zug 2-1 thanks to two powerplay goals.

Sunday's games in the National League are Davos - Biel, Lugano - SCL Tigers and Servette - Lausanne.
