In the scandal surrounding manipulated suits at the World Championships, the FIS has provisionally suspended five members of the Norwegian ski jumping team. These include top athletes Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang.
In addition to the jumpers, three team officials, including head coach Magnus Brevig, have also been suspended from participating in FIS events with immediate effect. They are being investigated for their alleged involvement in equipment manipulation at last Saturday's World Championships competition on the large hill.
"The situation is of course extremely worrying and disappointing," said FIS Secretary General Michel Vion. They are "working tirelessly to conduct a comprehensive and thorough investigation as quickly as possible while ensuring fairness and due process".
At the request of the external investigators, the FIS confiscated all jumpsuits worn by Norwegian teams - including in the Nordic Combined - at the World Championships in Trondheim on Tuesday. Lindvik and Forfang won bronze with the men's team and silver with the mixed team. Lindvik also won gold on the normal hill.
Anonymously filmed and published videos have been causing a stir in ski jumping since Saturday. The footage shows the Norwegian team working on competition suits in an unacceptable way. For example, an unauthorized seam was attached to provide more stability.
