HC Lugano is strengthening its roster with the experienced American forward Zach Sanford. The 30-year-old has signed for one season, the Ticino team announced.
Sanford brings with him the experience of 359 games in the NHL. He scored a total of 112 points for seven different clubs in the North American top league. He won the Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019. Last season, Sanford only played in the second-tier AHL (51 points in 77 games for the Rockford IceHogs).
"He's a versatile forward who can be used as a wing or center and is used to playing on the power play and in the box," is how general manager Janick Steinmann describes his new foreigner.
