American Luke Lamperti wins the first stage of the Paris-Nice long-distance race on Sunday after a bunch sprint in Carrières-sous-Poissy.

Jonas Vingegaard, the top favorite for overall victory, lost 47 seconds. The really tough stages are on the program from Thursday. The Swiss colors will be represented by Fabio Christen and time trial specialist Stefan Bissegger, whose services will primarily be in demand for Tuesday's team time trial.
