Mads Pedersen celebrates his fourth stage win at this year's Giro d'Italia. After 180 km in Vicenza, the Dane won the sprint ahead of Wout van Aert and Tour leader Isaac del Toro.
Pedersen and Van Aert fought a long sprint duel on ascending terrain at the end of the 13th stage, which the 2019 world champion won quite safely. Van Aert is still on a stage win, which he achieved four days ago in Siena.
Mexican rider Isaac del Toro from UAE Team Emirates will wear the leader's jersey for the fifth time on Saturday. The 21-year-old extended his lead over teammate Juan Ayuso to 38 seconds in the 13th stage thanks to bonifications.
On Saturday, the peloton will ride from Treviso to Nova Gorica in Slovenia, the home of Giro top favorite Primoz Roglic, who is in 5th place overall, 1:35 minutes behind the leader. The mostly flat stage includes three smaller climbs towards the end.
