Professional cyclist Marc Hirschi finishes second in the Gran Piemonte in Italy.
The 27-year-old Bernese rider from the Swiss Tudor team was only beaten by Isaac Del Toro in the 179-kilometer one-day race.
The Mexican had broken away around 17 kilometers before the finish, Hirschi won the final sprint for the place of honor against the Dutchman Bauke Mollema. This is Hirschi's second 2nd place in the race in northern Italy after 2023.
A second Swiss rider, Fabio Christen, put in a strong performance. He finished the race in fourth place, just over a minute behind the winner Del Toro.
