Marc Hirschi wins the Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France, which is part of the World Tour. The Bernese rider from UAE Team Emirates came out on top ahead of Paul Magnier from France and Magnus Cort from Denmark.

Hirschi was one of the favorites in the 259.8 km race from Plouay to Plouay and showed why in impressive fashion. The 26-year-old rode tactically skillfully. While numerous riders tried to break away by stepping up the pace, he waited for the right moment.

He was part of the group that pulled away decisively on the final climb. He was riding at the limit, but when there was a short wait, "I knew this was my moment," said Hirschi, who will be riding for the Swiss team Tudor Pro Cycling from 2025. He attacked with just under four kilometers to go and saved a one-second lead over the finish line.

"The last 60 kilometers were extremely difficult," said Hirschi. "There were many attacks and nobody was really stronger than the competition." He underlined his top form with the victory. Two weeks earlier, he had already triumphed in the one-day classic in San Sebastian, which is also part of the World Tour, a success that he counts among his greatest victories. The home World Championships at the end of September in Zurich can come.
