Marc Marquez continues his winning streak

It took Marc Marquez on the Ducati to take the lead on the circuit in Styria. The sovereign world championship leader finally managed to overtake the Italian Marco Bezzecchi on the Aprilia, who had started from pole position, as the leader at the second attempt eight laps before the end.

As expected, the successful maneuver was the deciding factor; once in front, Marc Marquez could no longer be stopped on his way to his ninth Grand Prix victory of the year. It was, and no clairvoyant abilities are required, the next step towards his seventh title win in the top World Championship category.

As the leader in the overall standings, the Spaniard extended his lead by a further 19 points to 142. His closest rival, his brother Alex Marquez, had to settle for 10th place on Sunday.

Dettwiler still without points

In the Moto3 class, Noah Dettwiler was once again far from scoring his first tangible result of the season. The 20-year-old from Basel was unable to finish higher than 23rd in the third win of the season for Spaniard Angel Piqueras, who is in second place in the championship standings.
