Helmut Marko has confirmed that Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen will continue to race for the Red Bull team next year. "Yes, I can confirm that Max Verstappen will be driving for Red Bull in 2026," said Marko to broadcaster RTL and the platform sport.de.

The Dutch daily newspaper "De Telegraaf" had previously reported that a departure after this season was no longer an issue for the 27-year-old. This would also put an early move to the Mercedes works team, which has been the subject of much speculation for months, off the table.

Although the four-time world champion still has a valid contract with Red Bull until the end of 2028, he is dissatisfied with the current sporting situation. He has lost touch with the front runners, McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. There have also been repeated reports of possible exit clauses. According to "De Telegraaf", there would have been a clause, but it has now expired.
