It is not yet entirely clear whether Milan will be able to continue the tour. "Fortunately, an initial clinical examination did not reveal any fractures," his team Lidl-Trek announced. However, the injuries - particularly to his right hand, left elbow and Milan's hip as well as his right knee - would continue to be monitored ahead of the second stage.

The stage between Madinat Zayed Majlis and the Liwa Palace was won by 22-year-old Mexican Isaac del Toro ahead of Dutch rider Cees Bol and Italian Antonio Tiberi. The route was shortened from 144 to 118 km due to strong winds. Stefan Bissegger, Johan Jacobs, Silvan Dillier and Robin Froidevaux crossed the finish line at the same time as the winner.

In 2025, Tadej Pogacar won the stage race and celebrated his first success of the season. This year, the exceptional rider from Slovenia will not start in the Emirates, but will begin his season in March at the Italian one-day race Strade Bianche.
