Around twelve weeks before the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, a good half of all tickets have been sold.
As the organizing committee announced at the request of the German news agency DPA, more than 850,000 of a total of 1.6 million tickets have been sold.
Ice hockey, biathlon and cross-country skiing were particularly popular sports. But the ski touring races, which are new to the Olympic program, are also almost sold out.
For some disciplines such as alpine skiing, bobsleigh, sledging, ski jumping and curling, individual tickets were no longer available on the official portal, but only expensive hospitality offers. According to the organizers, more than half of all tickets were available for less than 100 euros each.
