For the first time in four years, Morgane Métraux has not made it into the top 100 in the LPGA season rankings. Now the Lausanne native has to fight for her Tour card for 2026.

Morgane Métraux started the last regular tournament of the year in 120th place. A top result would probably have been enough to secure her eligibility to play in 2026. The player from western Switzerland began on the par-70 course at the Pelican Golf Club in Florida with a good round of 68, which earned her 13 places in the annual rankings.

In the second round, however, things no longer went according to plan for the Lausanne native. Starting on the 10th hole, she was already six over par at the halfway point and maintained this disappointing result until the end. In the end, the 28-year-old missed the cut by three strokes.

Métraux therefore ends the 2025 golf year in 122nd place and must try to qualify for the LPGA via the Q-School for the first time in three years. Starting on December 4, five rounds of the Q-School will compete for 25 places on the tour.

Valenzuela still falls behind

Albane Valenzuela, on the other hand, can already prepare for the next LPGA season after a vacation break. The Geneva native finished the season rankings in 95th place. The 27-year-old was among the top ten at the halfway stage of the final tournament. She then dropped back to 65th place with daily scores of 72 and 75 strokes and had to settle for 7500 dollars in prize money.

With a total of 20 events this year, that gives her prize money of 220,000 dollars. Her best result was a 5th place in the team competition at the Dow Championship, where Valenzuela and Sarah Schmelzel were in first place before the final day.

For comparison: in her record year in 2024, Valenzuela earned 750,000 dollars with three top 10 finishes, among other things, and finished 45th in the annual rankings. Things also went better for the Frenchwoman in 2023 on the LPGA. With total prize money of just over 460,000 dollars, she was ranked 60th at the end of the season.
