The Montreal Canadiens win against the Tampa Bay Lightning
Keystone
The Tampa Bay Lightning with Janis Moser lose 2:3 against the Montreal Canadiens, giving the Canadiens a 3:2 lead in the best-of-7 series in the playoff round of 16.
The decisive goal was scored by Alexandre Texier right at the start of the third period. Despite 17 shots on goal in the final period, Tampa was unable to equalize. The 25-year-old Moser, who had two assists in the fourth game on Sunday, was also unable to help his team score a goal on Wednesday evening local time.
The 6th game of the first playoff round will now take place in Montreal on Friday. With a win at home, the Canadiens would secure a playoff spot, while Tampa needs the win to even up the series and force a Game 7.
Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers have already played their sixth game. Thanks to the 1-0 goal shortly before the end of overtime, the Flyers secured victory in the series 4-2. In the second playoff round, Philadelphia will now face the Carolina Hurricanes, who were the first team to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
