Moser scores and loses, important win for the Predators

Moser cut the deficit to 2:3 in the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets shortly after half-time. The 25-year-old from Biel scored with a wrist shot from distance. It was his 24th goal of the season and his 110th overall in the NHL. It was not enough to score: the Lightning lost 2:5 and suffered their sixth defeat in the last seven games.

The Nashville Predators celebrated an important victory in the battle for the playoffs. The team with Swiss captain Roman Josi showed comeback qualities against the Seattle Kraken. They turned around a 2-0 deficit in the middle third and won 4-2 in the end. The Predators moved to within one point of their opponents in the standings, who occupy the last wild card spot in the West.

The San Jose Sharks have exactly the same number of points as Nashville. The franchise from California suffered its third straight defeat at the hands of the in-form Buffalo Sabres. Philipp Kurashev, who has been missing in action of late, had a minus-3 record with 3:6 and around twelve minutes of ice time.

After four wins in a row, the St. Louis Blues and Pius Suter suffered a defeat. The 3:4 after overtime against the New York Islanders is a damper in the fight for a playoff spot.

The Dallas Stars are far removed from worries of this kind. The 2:1 win against the Vegas Golden Knights was the twelfth victory in the last 13 games for the team from Texas. Only Colorado is ahead of Dallas in the West. Lian Bichsel did not score for the Stars, Akira Schmid did not play for the Golden Knights.
