With the win, Tampa ended Utah's five-game winning streak. Janis Moser was one of the assists on the 2-0 goal, which was scored by Anthony Cirelli in overtime with less than a minute left in the game. The first goal was also scored by Darren Raddysh during a Lightning power play.

The game between the Los Angeles Kings with Kevin Fiala and the Columbus Blue Jackets was postponed due to a "heavy onset of winter" in Columbus and will be rescheduled for March 9.
