The Tampa Bay Lightning sweep Utah Hockey off the ice in front of a home crowd with an 8-0 win, putting Janis Moser's team at the top of the Atlantic Division. The defenseman from Biel played his part in the resounding victory with an assist to make it 2-0. Russia's Nikita Kucherov shone with a goal and three assists, while his compatriot Andrej Wassilewski recorded his 40th shutout in the NHL with 25 saves.

Kevin Fiala had a bitter evening with the Los Angeles Kings. The Californians lost 4-0 to the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh's superstar Sidney Crosby set a record in the 3:7 defeat in Buffalo. With his goal to make it 1:2, the 37-year-old averaged at least one point per game in his 20th season.

Crosby thus overtook Wayne Gretzky to become the best player in NHL history in this category. Crosby leads the Penguins' scoring list with 80 points (26 goals, 54 assists). The center can play a maximum of 80 games due to an injury in February.
