MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin has to go to hospital after a serious crash during pre-season testing in Sepang, Malaysia.
The Spaniard lost control of his Aprilia, flew off and hit his head, tearing off his visor. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old was always conscious.
The examinations did not reveal any injuries to his head. However, fractures to his right hand and left foot were diagnosed. Jorge Martin will remain in hospital overnight and fly back to Europe on Thursday. There he will undergo surgery on his hand and foot.
Jorge Martin won his first MotoGP World Championship title in 2024 on a Ducati from Pramac-Racing and switched to Aprilia in the off-season. The first Grand Prix of the 2025 season is scheduled for March 2 in Thailand.
