The Predators lost 3-2 at home to the San Jose Sharks and no longer have a chance of catching the Los Angeles Kings. The victory also had no consequences for San Jose. The Sharks, who were without Philipp Kurashev for the twelfth time in a row, can, like Nashville, reach a maximum of 88 points. Josi set up the tying goal to make it 2:3 with one minute remaining, but the equalizer was never scored.

The Los Angeles Kings, without the injured Kevin Fiala, punched their play-off ticket thanks to a strong final spurt. With their fifth win in a row against the Seattle Kraken, they consolidated 8th place in the Western Conference with their 89th point. Mathematically, 4th place is still possible, as the teams between 4th and 8th place are separated by just four points.

The Vegas Golden Knights occupy 4th place. In their 6-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets with Nino Niederreiter, the Swiss duel failed to materialize because the Knights were without goalie Akira Schmid for the eleventh time in a row.

The St. Louis Blues with Pius Suter beat the Minnesota Wild 6-3. The Tampa Bay Lightning with Janis Moser, who provided an assist, and the Dallas Stars without the surplus Lian Bichsel also celebrated victories.
