The New Jersey Devils came away with another narrow victory against the Utah Mammoth - and once again Nico Hischier was one of the decisive factors. The Wallis native set up both the equalizer in the middle third and the 2:1 winner in the 45th minute and now has 18 assists (and ten goals) after 35 games. The real match-winner was goalie Jacob Markström with 32 shots saved.

Nino Niederreiter is doing less well with the Winnipeg Jets, who were the best team in qualifying last season. They are currently the Colorado Avalanche, who won 3:2 against Winnipeg on Saturday night and celebrated their twelfth home win in a row. It was the Canadiens' sixth defeat in the last seven games, with Niederreiter on the ice for two goals against.

At the moment, the Jets would miss the playoffs. New Jersey, on the other hand, is in 3rd place in the East.
