The International Floorball Federation (IFF) is introducing a new event structure from 2029. European Championships will be introduced, alternating with the World Championships every two years.

The men's and women's World Championships will no longer take place every two years, but only every four years, and will form the end of each cycle. In between, European Championships will now be held with the best twelve teams on the continent.

As the European Championships also serve as World Cup qualifiers, there will no longer be separate qualifying tournaments. This means that a men's or women's World Cup or European Championship will be held every year. Teams that miss the World Cup qualifiers can still secure a place at the World Cup via the newly created "World Trophy".

The World and European Championships will be held in mid-November.
