Ordizia in the Basque Country remains a good place for Swiss cyclists. After Marc Hirschi won the 165 km one-day race last year, this year's winner was Jan Christen.
The 20-year-old from Aargau pulled away in the hilly race 10 km before the finish and saved a lead of 22 seconds to the finish. The Italian Vincenzo Albanese and the Spaniard Pau Miquel followed in 2nd and 3rd place.
It was the third win of the season for the UAE Team Emirates rider. Christen had won the Giro dell'Appennino just under two weeks ago. He had also replaced last year's winner Marc Hirschi.
