Nino Niederreiter and the Winnipeg Jets celebrate their fifth win in the NHL in the sixth game of the season. In the 2:1 win at the Calgary Flames, the Grisons forward initiated the turnaround for his team.
Niederreiter set up Neal Pionk on the power play at 0:1 at the start of the final period, whose shot was deflected by Jonathan Toews. Twelve minutes later, Mark Scheifele scored the winner for Winnipeg.
It was the fifth win in a row for the Jets after their opening 4-5 loss to the Dallas Stars. Niederreiter was involved in at least one goal for the fourth time. He now has six points (2 goals).
Akira Schmid unexpectedly made his third appearance of the season for the Vegas Golden Knights. The Swiss goalie came in for the injured Adin Hill just under ten minutes into the 4-1 home win against the Carolina Hurricanes and saved 23 of 24 shots.
