Nino Niederreiter won with his Winnipeg Jets against the New York Islanders. The 33-year-old also scored in the 5-2 win. With a goal in the first period and an assist in the 13:41 minutes Niederreiter was on the ice, he made a big contribution to the Jets' second win of the season.

Roman Josi was also successful. He and the Nashville Predators celebrated a commanding 4-1 victory against the Ottawa Senators. Josi provided the preliminary decision with an assist for 3:1 just under a minute before the end, playing a total of 24:54 minutes.

Janis Moser also played almost as long. He was on the ice for 24:23 minutes for the Tampa Bay Lightning, providing an assist in a narrow 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins. The 25-year-old from Biel and his team thus secured their first win of the season.
