The Jets earned their third win in a row after trailing. Suter put the Canucks in front 65 seconds before the end of the first period. The Zurich native continued his productive streak. He has eight points in the last four games. He scored two goals himself and set up six others.
American Kyle Connor, Winnipeg's top scorer and most prolific point collector, equalized midway through the second period. The Jets, who had already qualified for the playoffs, scored the other two goals in the third period. Niederreiter was not involved in any of the three goals.
In the overall league standings, the Jets are three points ahead of the Washington Capitals, who have played one game less. The Canucks, on the other hand, will have to hurry if they want to avoid the end of the season after the regular season. They are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference standings, six points behind the St. Louis Blues with one game less to play.
The Los Angeles Kings currently have ten points more than the Canucks. The team with Kevin Fiala, currently number 5 in the West, took the next step towards a playoff spot with an 8:1 victory over the league's bottom-placed San Jose Sharks.
