Niederreiter went scoreless in the 6-2 away win in Minnesota, while his teammate Mark Scheifele stood out with a goal and three assists.

Nevertheless, there is a clear gap in the table: While Minnesota occupies 3rd place in the Western Conference, the Jets rank only 15th out of 16 teams and are thus far away from the playoff ranks.

Schmid a spectator during Hill's comeback

Akira Schmid did not play in the Vegas Golden Knights' spectacular 6-5 overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Emmental native had to give way to Adin Hill in goal for the victorious home team. The 2023 Stanley Cup winner and 2021 World Champion with Canada made his comeback after a three-month injury layoff, but was not entirely convincing with a save percentage of just 82.1 per cent. Jack Eichel secured the victory with the decisive goal in extra time; he also set up three further goals.
