BMX freestyle specialist Nikita Ducarroz misses out on a place in the final competition. The rider from Geneva only came 10th in the qualification.

In the preliminary competition with only twelve riders competing for the nine places in the final, Ducarroz achieved an average score of 79.78 points after two runs. The 2021 Olympic bronze medallist therefore missed her primary target by three and a half points. Among the three who failed was Great Britain's Charlotte Worthington, who had won gold in Japan's capital.

As expected, Hannah Roberts was the best qualifier. The American, who came second in Tokyo three years ago, is a five-time world champion and is considered the number one contender for Olympic victory in Wednesday's final.
