The ZSC Lions can't find a recipe against a strong Leonardo Genoni in their home game against EV Zug and can't end their losing streak. These are the facts of Friday's games.

In the Z-duel, the question was: Which negative streak would end? Both teams had conceded four defeats in a row across all competitions. In the end, EV Zug was able to celebrate a narrow 3:2 victory after penalties - mainly thanks to an outstanding Leonardo Genoni in goal. The national keeper saved all of Zurich's attempts in the shootout, while Mike Künzle was the only one to score and secure Zug the extra point.

In the end, the shooting ratio of 44:20 was clearly in favor of the ZSC Lions, for whom Sven Andrighetto made his comeback after a month-long injury layoff. For EVZ, the 17-year-old Jan Daron wrote a nice story: The young forward scored his first goal in his second game in the National League and made it 2-0 in the meantime. Shortly before the end of regulation time, both teams missed a penalty each.

SCB again too harmless offensively

In the third championship game under coach Heinz Ehlers, SC Bern suffered its second defeat. In the 2-0 loss in front of less than 15,000 spectators in their own stadium, SCB once again failed to do much offensively. A former SCB forward of all people was at the origin of Bern's defeat: Dominik Kahun gave Lausanne a 1-0 lead as early as the 4th minute. In the final minute, Sami Niku made the Vaud team's first victory after four championship defeats in a row perfect with an empty-netter.

Lakers on form with spectacular win

When it's on, it's on: The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers defied all the odds on their visit to Biel and extended their unbeaten streak to six games with a 6:4 victory. In a turbulent middle third, a 1:1 lead turned into a 2:4 deficit for the visitors by half-time. But the surprise team of the season remained unimpressed. Jacob Larsson reduced the deficit to 3:4 before the second break and the Lakers then turned up the heat again in the final period: With goals from Valentin Hofer and Tanner Fritz, they finally turned the game in their favor and confirmed their status as first runners-up to leaders Davos.

Ambri lose after an upward trend

After the scandal of the previous week, when coach Luca Cereda and sporting director Paolo Duca resigned and president Filippo Lombardi called for a vote of confidence, Ambri had temporarily regained some calm with two wins in a row. But under the new coaching duo of Éric Landry and René Matte - previously Cereda's assistants - the brief upturn in fortunes came to an end on Friday. The Leventines lost 2:4 to the SCL Tigers, with the visitors from Emmental impressing with a composed team performance. The four goals were scored by all lines - the decisive 3:1 was scored by top scorer Dario Rohrbach in the 25th minute.

Gottéron with three power play goals

The duel between Fribourg-Gottéron and Genève-Servette in western Switzerland was decided early on. The Fribourg team made it 5-0 by the 38th minute, while Genève-Servette were only able to make up some ground before the final buzzer. Gottéron scored three of the five goals on the power play - through Julien Sprunger (2-0), Michael Kapla (4-0) and Ludvig Johnson (5-0). With 16 goals conceded while shorthanded, Servette currently has the weakest box play in the league.

Kloten wins crisis duel

Kloten won the clash between the two teams with the weakest form in the league. The Zurich lowlanders won 3-0 away at Ajoie and thus celebrated only their second victory in the last eight games. The ninth defeat in a row for the relegated bottom team from the Jura (5 points) was initiated by Oula Palve of all people. The Finn, who still played for Ajoie last season, scored the groundbreaking 1:0 for Kloten in the 24th minute.
