No Swiss in the top 20

Beda Klee in particular, who finished in the top ten six times last season, cannot be at all satisfied with his 36th place, 3:22 minutes behind the winner Martin Nyenget.

The Toggenburg native noted that he didn't really have the power in his whole body. It didn't even feel like he was at his limit on the course. He had definitely aimed for more.

Klee was not even the best Swiss. Jonas Baumann and Jason Rüesch finished ahead of him in 24th and 31st place. 23-year-old Nicola Wigger was only twelve seconds slower than Klee and also finished in the top 40 in 38th place. Like Rüesch, Baumann was competing in the World Cup for the first time this winter and was moderately satisfied. He had flirted with a place in the top 20, but in the end it was a solid race.

At the top, Norway's Nyenget celebrated his second win of the season after the 10 km skating in Lillehammer a week earlier. Finland's Iivo Niskanen came second, while France's Hugo Lapalus finished third to reach the World Cup podium for only the second time in his career. The 26-year-old last achieved this at the beginning of the year in Val di Fiemme.

He was followed by four other Norwegians, including Saturday's sprint winner Johannes Klaebo, who became the most successful skier in Davos with five victories (ahead of Björn Dählie and Federico Pellegrino with four each).
