Noè Ponti achieves another World Cup victory in Incheon, South Korea. The swimmer from Ticino wins again in the 50 m dolphin.
With a time of 21.76 seconds, Ponti missed his world record for the two lengths in the small pool, which he had set six days earlier in Shanghai, by nine hundredths. He finished more than two tenths ahead of the Dutchman Nyls Korstanje and more than half a second ahead of the German Marius Kusch and the Australian Isaac Cooper, who set the same time.
It was the Olympic bronze medal winner's third success in Incheon after his victories in the 100 m dolphin and 100 m medley.
Thierry Bollin, who was also in the final, was not quite as successful in the 100 m backstroke. The swimmer from Bern finished in 8th place, 1.44 seconds behind the South African winner Pieter Coetze.
