The scandal surrounding Norway's ski jumpers has led to further personnel consequences. After head coach Magnus Brevig and employee Adrian Livelten, assistant coach Thomas Lobben is also suspended.
Lobben has admitted to being involved in the decision to manipulate the jump suits, the Norwegian Ski Association announced.
Anonymously filmed and published videos showed how the Norwegian team worked on the competition suits in the presence of head coach Brevig during the World Championships in Trondheim. A non-permitted seam was added to provide more stability. The additional stability helps the jumpers to fly in the air.
The cheating scandal has so far had no consequences for Norwegian ski jumpers, apart from the disqualifications of Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang directly after the large hill competition. However, ski jumpers from other nations do not believe the Norwegian athletes that they did not realize that something was wrong with the suits. The unanimous opinion is that every ski jumper notices the slightest change to the jump suit immediately.
