The ski jumping scandal surrounding manipulated suits has led to the first personnel consequences for the Norwegians.
Coach Magnus Brevig was suspended the day after the end of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, as was Adrian Livelten, who was also involved.
The federation is thus drawing the consequences from the fraud that sports director Jan Erik Aalbu confessed to on Sunday under growing pressure. Anonymously filmed and published videos have been causing a stir in ski jumping since Saturday. The images show how the Norwegian team, in the presence of the 41-year-old Brevig, is working on the competition suits in an unacceptable manner.
Immediately after the competition on the large hill, in which the two Norwegians Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang were disqualified, Aalbu spoke of a "breach of the rules". Only later did he admit to cheating, of which he himself is said to have known nothing. He continues to enjoy the trust of the federation. Former Slovenian ski jumper Bine Norcic will now take over as coach.
